What you'll need to qualify
General requirements across most scholarship routes. Exact thresholds vary by program and university — treat this as a planning checklist.
Age
- Under 25 for bachelor's programs
- Under 35 for master's programs
- Under 40 for doctoral programs
Language
- HSK Level 4+ for Chinese-taught programs
- IELTS 6.0+ or TOEFL 80+ for English-taught programs
- Some tracks accept a lower level plus a preparatory year
Academic documents
- Notarized highest diploma and full transcripts
- Two academic recommendation letters
- A study plan or research proposal
Health & identity
- Passport valid 12+ months past your intended start date
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form
- Non-criminal record certificate (most routes)
Bachelor's applicants for the 2026/2027 intake also need a CSCA academic assessment score — a newer requirement worth confirming on your target university's page.
